FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Our 'On-Site' containers are currently available in two sizes.
Our smaller 10' x 8' containers can hold a significant amount of your belongings and would be ideal for the contents of your Garage etc.
Our larger 20' x 8' containers are large enough to hold a car or the contents of an average 3 bedroom house. We find these to be the most versatile size for both domestic and commercial users.
We do not operate many 40' x 8' containers, however we do have a couple and these are in our 'off-site' stock, as they are normally better suited to larger businesses who require them on their premises.
We rent out different sizes of container, which each have a different rate.
These are rented out priced on a weekly basis, and these are normally billed out in 4 week periods in advance.
We may be able to arrange to have different payment periods for you if required, for example if you were going to be out of the country for some time you could arrange to store your items with us for 6 months or a year and pay for that period in one lump sum in advance.
Feel free to contact us to discuss your needs and contact us for pricing.
We have a large amount of containers available as On-Site storage, however you can arrange with us to rent a container located at your own premises.
Off site containers must be returned to our site at the end of the rental period in the condition in which they left.
It is the responsibility of the renter to arrange transport of the container both from and back to our premises.
Anything you want, with a few common sense exceptions.
You can not store any illegal goods or items in our containers.
At our On-Site storage containers you also cannot store any of the following:
Compressed gasses, fuels or other highly flammable liquids.
Dangerous, corrosive or harmful chemicals which could leak.
Materials prone to spontaneous combustion such as hay etc.
Explosives etc.
Containers can attract heat in the sun so may warm up, which means that consideration should be taken with items that are affected by heat.
Customers provide their own padlocks.
This ensures that the customer has the choice of either using a key based lock, code based lock, or even a smart lock, to better suit their access requirements.
This also means that the customer knows that they are the only one with the key or code, or control access to such, so that you know your container is secure.
We operate a mimimum rental period of one week. You only pay for the time you use your container. You pay for your container in advance in four weekly periods. You would then be refunded for any full weeks remaining in your previous billing period after we had verified that your container has been emptied.
Almost all international standard shipping containers are now manufactured outwith the UK. Therefore all New containers have to be transported to the UK.
As it would not be very sustainable for the environment and very ineffective cost-wise to transport these from around the world empty, any new shipping containers coming into the UK usually have carried some goods in them to the UK. They are then made available to the UK container market as New 'Single Trip' units, i.e. they have made a single trip from their country of manufacture/origin to the UK.
Any international standard shipping containers for sale in the UK described as New will therefore have carried out one single trip carrying goods.
